Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | British Geological Survey (BGS) Geophysical Survey 1984/4: Norwegian Waters (08/05/1984 to 09/05/1984) |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | abc9f747-53a3-0f38-e044-0003ba9b0d98 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | BGS_CMD_REF213 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1984-05-08 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1984-05-09 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | 5 |
Spatial resolution unit | This describes the unit of spatial resolution which for distance must be metres. | urn:ogc:def:uom:EPSG::9001 |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | Report: Brett, CP. 1984. Operations Report on Projects 84/02 and 84/03 Regional Geophysical Surveys in the Southern North Sea, and Project 84/04, a Short Gravity Survey in Norwegian Waters. (IGS Report No 151) |
Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Geophysical equipment types used included: Echo Sounder, Gravimeter and Magnetometer. The survey was undertaken by British Geological Survey. Navigation: Magnavox satellite navigation system integrated with MX610 doppler sonar and Arma Brown Mk1 Mod 5 or Mk 1C gyro compass. Decca Mk21 main chain receiver - optional integration with above. Mk 21 lat-lon convertor.
