A multibeam echosounder survey was undertaken in July/August 2014 as part of the Darwin Plus funded project (DPLUS026) in the British Virgin Islands. The survey was undertaken from the MV Rhone Ranger, owned by the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands. The survey suite consisted of the following items: Teledyne-Reson T20-P multibeam echosounder, Applanix POS MV Wavemaster Inertial Motion Unit with Fugro GPS corrections, SAIV SD-204 CTD profiler, PDS2000 and Pos-Pac data acquisition software. This dataset is a raster file in *.img format which contains depth (in metres below Chart Datum) values across the survey area.

Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 9863 |
Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | British Virgin Islands multibeam bathymetry data |
Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | HI1462_MB_Bathymetry_1m.img |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | CEFAS5cd9958c-c1d1-4e98-91fd-f18a7ae8dd99 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | CEFAS3511 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-07-12 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-08-04 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | 1 |
Spatial resolution unit | This describes the unit of spatial resolution which for distance must be metres. | urn:ogc:def:uom:EPSG::9001 |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | All data were acquired using PDS2000, processed using Caris HIPS and visualised using QPS Fledermaus. Data acquisition was undertaken by UKHO/MMT, data processing by UKHO, data visualisation by Cefas.
