Bibby HydroMap were commissioned in May 2018 by Orsted to carry out Geophysical and Benthic surveys at Horsea 03 Lots 5 and 8. The survey across the Lot 8 export route was completed under Bibby HydroMap's terms and conditions using MV Bibby Tethra, between 16th August and 3rd September 2018 with a 40m line spacing. The main objectives of the surveys were as follows: â?¢ Cable route engineering â?¢ Geo-hazard assessment â?¢ Consenting requirements o Identifying archaeological restrictions o Identifying protected ecological habitats â?¢ Planning of Geotechnical investigations â?¢ UXO clearance for Geotechnical investigations This dataset comprises of the SSS data across the survey area.

Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2018_023_HOW03_Lot8_Sample_B01_SSS_data |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 268447f05f771ff96e4d23852cb96139 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 2018_023 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2018-08-16 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2018-09-03 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

Bathymetry and Residual Mag grids used to aid interpretation of targets shape and determine their confidence interval according to the levels defined in the scope of work. Trackplots The raw *.cods are recorded in CODA DA4G. The raw xtfs are created using Sonar Wiz- *.cod files are imported into SonarWiz. Navigation and map offsets are applied to the data. This navigation information is exported out and injected into raw *.xtfs using NavInjectorPro. Xtfs were loaded in to Coda Survey Engine to export a trackplot report, which was formatted in ArcGIS. Line shp file includes positioning for every ping (ping rate 33.5pps) Point shp files includes a point every 200th ping" Navigation Processing summary Navigation files produced in QINSY and QINSy Validator. Applied to SSS files using NavInjectorPro and minor map corrections applied in SonarWiz if required. The final navigation files are exported out of SonarWiz Mosaic Mosaic resolution: 0.1 mpp / 1 mpp Background Value: No data value is white and was set to transparent during clipping and exporting in Global Mapper HF/LF Mosaic: *.cod files are imported into SonarWiz. Navigation and map corrections and offsets are applied to the data. EGN gain table is built and applied to the data. The files order is optimised for cover up. No average or shine through is used. The mosaic is then exported and then clipped to survey boundary and tiled in Global Mapper SBF Processing Summary: Side scan sonar mosaic and bathymetric XYZ are used to identify and measure the heights, wavelength and orientation of any seabed morphology. Side scan sonar and backscatter is used to identify the classification of the seabed sediments. |
