Metadata: England's Historic Seascapes: Withernsea to Skegness - Landscape Characterisation of the Inter-tidal and Marine zones.
Abstract:
Part of the larger 'England's Historic Seascapes' project, funded through the Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF) and distributed by English Heritage (EH). This part of the project characterised the historic coastal, inter-tidal and marine zone 'land'scapes between Withernsea and Skegness in the East Ridings of Yorkshire, extending out to the medial line with Holland. The characterisation is intented to inform both coastal and marine management and planning. Site coordinates given are for Withernsea and Skegness. Full study area (which includes 120km of the tidal Humber estuary) is shown in project report. Maximum depth is estimated from the approximate Marine limit of the study area, as it relates to SeaZone Hydrospatial depth data, height above OD is not known. Neither limit is specified in the project report. More details about the project are available on the Archaeology Data Service website - http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk
