Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 5491 |
Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2001-2004 Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) rehabilitation of the seabed following marine aggregate dredging part II |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | e3ef6d0258c9336b20c06ff63df2b936 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | MRMLN0040000008C |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2001-01-01 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2004-12-31 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | annually |
Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | Benthic marine species abundance data from investigation into physical and biological recovery of the seabed following cessation of marine aggregate extraction. |
Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Samples for analysis of the macrobenthic fauna and sediment particle size were collected with an 0.1 m2 Hamon Grab from RV Cirolana in 2001-2002 and from RV Cefas Endeavour in 2003-2004. All locations were sampled between May and July. Replicate samples were collected from areas of the sea bed which had been identified by the Electronic Monitoring system as being of high and low dredging intensity. A 500ml subsample was removed for sample analysis. The Remaining sample was washed over 5mm and 1mm sieves. The two fractions were backwashed into separate containers. In Addition, sidescan sonar, photographic and multibeam surveys were also undertaken. |
