This is a multi-vessel survey and this metadata record describes the commercial fishing vessel Genesis' sampling component of the survey conducted in 2019 at Rockall. This trawl survey followed a set of protocols drawn up by an industry science survey-planning group made up of Marine Scotland scientists and fishing representatives. These protocols share much in common with the sampling regimes described in Marine Scotland standing instructions for demersal trawl surveys.

Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | FishDAC - SIAMISS - 2019 Northern Shelf Anglerfish Survey (Scotland) - Rockall |
Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | 2019 Monkfish Survey, SIAMISS 2019 Charter Vessel Genesis |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | Marine_Scotland_FishDAC_12266 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | Marine_Scotland_FishDAC_12266 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2019-04-28 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2019-05-07 |

Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Catch rate, length-frequency, distribution, sex and age composition data for anglerfish, megrim, four-spot megrim and cod were collected throughout the survey. Additional biological data was collected for selected species. Equipment used: BT195 Anglerfish bottom trawl with 400mm Rockhopper ground gear and tickler chain. |
