An assessment of the Suffolk coastal zone, comprising a number discrete project which took place between 1999 and 2007. The surveys included Aerial Photography interpretation, an assessment of historic maps and other documentary evidence, and field survey of the intertidal zone which took place mostly in 2002. 484 features were recorded during the survey, and included jetties, fish traps, salterns and military structures, as well as hulks, pottery scatters, causeways, kilns and docks. Recording in plan and dating wood samples from key sites was also carried out.
