Wessex Archaeology (WA) was commissioned by Celtic Array to undertake an Archaeological and Cultural Heritage Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed Rhiannon Wind Farm (RWF). This followed on from the non-statutory Zonal Appraisal and Planning (ZAP) process. The baseline information is to be incorporated into the RWF Environmental Statement (ES) as part of the Archaeology and Cultural Heritage chapter, which will be submitted with the draft Development Consent Order (the planning application). Documents included in this series are : The approach to EIA - Environmental Impact Assessment, ref no. SE-D-EV-132-0117-501051-003, which followed the recommendations that were made as part of the Round 3 Irish Sea Zone: Rhiannon Wind Farm Ltd. Environmental Impact Assessment Offshore Scoping Report (Centrica Energy and Dong Energy 2012). And the aim of this document, is to provide a basis for consultation with the Statutory Heritage Bodies (SHBs), and to outline the offshore Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approach for archaeology and cultural heritage. The 2nd report which is the Rhiannon Wind Farm Environmental Impact Assessment, ref no. SE-D-EV-132-0117-501051-004, is the Offshore Archaeology and Cultural Heritage which consists of a Volume I: Desk-Based Assessment and Volume II: the Appendices. The document is a report on the deskbased assessment which provided baseline information in support of an archaeological and cultural heritage Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed Rhiannon Wind Farm (RWF) and its associated Offshore Export Cable Area (OECA) located north of the Isle of Anglesey, Wales. The desk-based assessment comprised of an archaeological baseline study and archaeological assessment of geophysical and geotechnical data within two principal areas: the area proposed for the offshore wind turbines (RWF), and the export cable corridor (OECA). The geophysical data assessed aspart of this review covers a proportion of the entire RWF and OECA Study Areas .
