DONG Energy has contracted GEO (Danish Geotechnical Institute) to conduct a geotechnical site investigation at the planned location for a substation, at the turbine area and at the export cable route for the Burbo Bank OWF. The investigations included CPT and Vibrocore sampling with GEO’s seabed rig GEOceptor. In total 32 seabed CPTs and 29 Vibrocores to a maximum 8 m below seabed were carried out.

Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. |
Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The objective of this geotechnical investigation is to provide CPT data and Vibrocore samples from the planned location for the substation, selected positions in the turbine area and along the cable route. The investigation includes CPTs with a target depth of 6 and 8 metres and Vibrocores with a target depth of 6 m. The geotechnical offshore activities were carried out from the vessel “s/b Victor” between 2012.08.29 and 2012.09.10. The operations were conducted on a 12-hour per day basis. |
