This series presents the results of the benthic surveys undertaken in relation to the Docking Shoal and Race Bank Offshore Wind Farms, and includes details on the sedimentary characteristics and the species found within the survey area. Surveys included the collection of benthic grab samples, epifaunal beam trawling and drop-down video sampling to avoid the use of invasive sampling in areas of significant biogenic reef. The surveys were undertaken in 2006. Please note the original benthic survey reports are provided within the appendices of the individual Docking Shoal and Race Bank Environmental Statements.

Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 7487 |
Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2006, AMEC/EMU/Envision/IECS/Osiris, Race Bank and Docking Shoal, Benthic Survey Outputs |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | b099e037581857e3919cc60bd2273159 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 4237 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2007 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2012-10-29 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Survey Techniques: Extensive seabed survey following the existing benthic sampling of wind farm sites (DEFRA, 2005) and aggregate extraction sites ( CEFAS, 2002). This involved benthic grab sampling and epifaunal beam trawling and the use of drop down videos. Prior to the survey consultation with statutory bodies was carried out. |
