"This project comprises two scientific papers. The first paper attempts to determine the effects of dredging for aggregate on benthic function diversity. Recovery was assessed. Insitu sediment screening were permitted during dredging operations; a difference in the sedimentary profile of the seabed between dredged and undisturbed reference sites was also observed. The second paper attempts to determine what extent changes to the sediment composition, as a resulting of marine aggregate dredging, matter for the structure and function of benthic communities. A dataset of 361 samples of macrofauna and sediment particle size was compiled."

Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 7500 |
Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2011, Cefas, Dredging Impacts Verified in Relation to Scientific Evidence (DIVERSE) |
Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | DIVERSE |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | b3ecb90674d855febf7d64ac7a765fb4 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 21457 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2024-03-29 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2024-03-29 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | "This project comprises two scientific papers. Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This project consists of two scientific papers. For the first paper over a period of four years a total of 120 samples were taken. Samples were processed for macrofauna and particle size distribution. For the second paper a total of 361 samples of macrofauna and sediment particle size were complied. These were both to access the dredging impacts on sediment. |
