This project details the visual and the acoustic marine mammal monitoring procedures and operational steps to be taken relating to marine mammal activity within the vessels proposed to install the foundations for the Walney Offshore Wind Farm. This takes place following an assessment of marine mammals carried out in the Environmental Statement. In the assessment three species were identified as key species for the NW3 region: harbour porpoise, bottlenose dolphin and grey seal. This document was prepared by DONG Energy in September 2009 prior to construction of the Walney Offshore Wind Farm.
