This data contains the ranked abundance of the fish species caught during the benthic ecology study. In agreement with the Marine Management Organisation, two seasonal site specific set net surveys were designed and implemented. The first survey was conducted in June 2012 with a second identical survey conducted in the following September.

Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | This data contains the ranked abundance of the fish species caught during the benthic ecology study. In agreement with the Marine Management Organisation, two seasonal site specific set net surveys were designed and implemented. The first survey was conducted in June 2012 with a second identical survey conducted in the following September. |
Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | A total of 19 two metre beam trawl tows were conducted within and around the development site from which a total of 26 different species of fish were recorded. The most abundant species were the cods and haddocks Gabidae, which were notably only recorded over inshore soft sediment substrates. Gobies Gobiidae and the common dragonet Callionymus lyra were also well represented in the 2 m beam trawl catches. Catches of fish and shellfish offshore and over harder and coarser seabed types were comparatively poor. |
