Abstract:
HiDef Aerial Surveying Limited (“HiDef”) has been commissioned by Lincs Wind Farm Limited (“LWFL”) to undertake ultra-high resolution digital video aerial surveys as part of a programme to monitor the effects of the construction and operation of the Lincs Wind Farm (“Lincs”) project on seabirds. The first year of post-construction monitoring was reported in the first annual post-construction aerial ornithological monitoring report (HiDef document HP00045 703) (“the year one report”), which was approved by the Licensing Authority in January 2015, subject to methodology changes which were then implemented within the second annual post-construction aerial ornithological monitoring report (HiDef document HP00048 – 702; “the year two report”), which was approved by the Licensing Authority in September 2015 and which was again subject to minor analytical changes. The Post-Construction Aerial Ornithological Monitoring Report in this series describes the results from the final year of post-construction monitoring (April 2015 – March 2016) and combines these with the results of the previous years’ monitoring. In doing so, this report seeks to fully discharge the Marine Licence conditions relating to ornithological survey (i.e. through the results being accepted as representing the third and combined years of post-construction monitoring). In addition reports and data for the tasks undertaken in support of the January 2016 - March 2016 surveys which were part of the final year of post-construction monitoring (April 2015 - March 2016) have been provided.
