Geotechnical Engineering and Marine Surveys Limited (GEMS) were contracted by E.ON (COMPANY) to perform geotechnical investigations at proposed wind turbine locations in the North Sea, approximately 8.0km east from the Yorkshire Coast. E.ON are planning the development of a wind farm. GEMS investigated soil conditions onsite for the emplacement of a proposed met mast. The required geotechnical investigation fieldwork consisted of two boreholes, the locations of which were UXO-5 and UXO-8. Fieldwork operations were conducted from the vessel MV Investigator which is owned by GEMS International NV and managed by Chapman International Services Ltd. The vessel is provided to GEMS under exclusive long term charter. Fieldwork operations were carried out from the 8th to the 20th of February 2009. The objectives of the specified geotechnical site survey fieldworks were to identify the underlying soils at the locations and to allow their geotechnical properties to be determined and enable engineering analyses in connection with piled foundations for the proposed met mast.

Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 7835 |
Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2009, GEMS, Humber Gateway Offshore Windfarm, Geotechnical Investigation at two possible met mast locations |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | ef2b2169c2335314beabbdac4c180f90 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 4782 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2009-02-08 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2009-02-13 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
