The Lincs Offshore Wind Farm is located approximately 8km off the coast of Lincolnshire, north-east of Skegness and is planned to consist of 69 wind turbines and 1 substation. GEO (Danish Geothechnical Institute) conducted geotechnical site investigations in terms of seabed deployed Piezocone Penetration Testing (PCP) and geotechnical borings for the planned offshore wind farm at Lincs. The boring campaign included in total 45 boreholes to between 40 and 50 metres below seabed. The boreholes were carried out as a combination of rotary, percussion and core drilling. In addition to the sampling, in-situ testing (SCP, PCPT, P-S logging and HPD tests) were carried out in the boreholes. The CPT campaign includes in total 82 PCPT tests. All the PCPT's were planned to penetrate to 25m below seabed. On the majority of the test locations this target depth was not reached due to soil conditions.
