The purpose of this data capture was to observe and record seasonal settlement and colonisation of pebble habitat by marine fauna and record the changes in abundance and where possible the condition of the animals collected over a year. This data may be related to the survey '1987-1988 NCC Rostron - Skomer Marine Nature Reserve animal communities on stones monitoring (MRO Identifier 3ca63b42-2ed0-40a5-898a-384d838ed27b)' although they cover different time periods and were digitised separately. Notes of the abundance of conspicuous species were made in the immediate vicinity of the monitoring site and along a transect. Close up photographs were taken to provide extra details. Surface seawater temperatures were measured by means of a mercury thermometer. In the laboratory each stone was examined individually and attached fauna recorded.
