Maps were created using object based image analysis (OBIA) which is a two-step process which involves the segmentation and then classification of an image. The MBES data was segmented using the multi-resolution segmentation algorithm within Trimble’s eCognition® software (v9.0.0) and classified using a random forest classification algorithm trained using the classified still image locations. The map created from the MBES bathymetry and backscatter data was classified to the simpler habitat classification of Seagrass, Algae, Bare and Mosaic. MEDIN 3.1.1
