The parameters of the extraction were: 1. Year: 2013 2. Spatial extent: South-west MMO Marine Plan Area 3. Aggregation: 0.05 x 0.05 grid 4. Targeted species groups: Crustacean and molluscs, Demersal and pelagic 5. Vessels: >12m 6. Units: hours per year 7. Time resolution: from the VMS (Vessel Monitoring System)- the vessels above 12m send their location every 2hours The gridded fishing effort data were clipped to the SW MMO Marine Plan Area. By overlaying MPAs in the SW MMO Marine Plan Area, the SUMA project was identifying how much commercial fishing is happening within MPAs. MEDIN 3.1.1
