First was from 18th March - 20th March 2012, during which the following data were collected: MB Bathymetry Coverage (Contractor): Partial Coverage (CHP) available at Cefas - poor quality, MB Backscatter Coverage (Contractor): Partial Coverage (CHP) available at Cefas - poor quality, 35 video transects and 367 stills analysed - Usable, 16 PSA samples - Re-Processed by Cefas, and 16 Infauna samples. The second survey was carried out from 27th May - 28th May 2012 but it is currently unknown what data were collected. By protecting these species and habitats MCZs will contribute to a network of MPAs in the UK, together with existing MPAs (European Marine Sites, and marine elements of SSSIs and Ramsar sites) and other national designations being planned in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This means the MPA network will be a collection of areas that work together to provide more benefits than an individual area could on its own. Natural England and JNCC will provide detailed advice to Public Authorities on the sensitivity of MCZ habitats and species following designation.
