Fishing took place using a Boris Goshawk trawl towed for an hour. This data is from the 3 surveys carried out in 1987. Numbers at length by centimetre of the main commercial fish species are recorded. Station positions by area are recorded. A summary table is included for cruises 01/87, 02/87 and 03/87 containing catch data for all other species. After completing two days work, a period of strong to storm force winds prevented the vessel from continuing the survey until the 30th. The final four days were then completed without further interruption. All 24 groundfish survey hauls were successfully carried out. - **Silver Star 02/87 (19th June - 24th June)** Trawling began on the 19th June, all six days work (24 groundfish surveys) were successfully completed without interruption. - **Silver Star 03/87 (14th October - 22nd October)** Work in the Red Wharf Bay commenced on the 14th October, the stations in this area and the 6-12 mile belt off Conwy were completed during the next two days, but gale force winds prevented the vessel from going out on the 16th. A day's work was completed on 17th October in the comparatively sheltered waters of the 0-3 miles belt off Conwy, but there was another delay due to weather on the 18th. Trawling then resumed on the 19th in the inshore deep water area off Conwy, and after one further day's delay, the final two days work were carried out in the Liverpool Bay on the 21st, and 3-6 miles off Conwy on 22nd.
