The MBES system was mounted to the bow of a local vessel chartered for the project. Data collection began in September 2016 and continued for 2 weeks with data being collected in both Road Bay and Crocus Bay. The data collected covered the majority of both of the bays and included a large area of the deeper water to the west of Sandy Island which had not been surveyed previously. The raw MBES data was processed by surveyors from the UKHO and Cefas during the survey to ensure data quality standards were being met. Data underwent post-survey processing using Caris Sips and Hips. Processed data was gridded to 2m. The data was assessed against the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) Standards for Hydrographic Surveys Order 1a and Special Order. The data achieved a 99% agreement with Order 1a and 95% agreement with IHO Special Order data quality. MEDIN 3.1.1
