Fish length was measured using a fisheries measuring board, and sex was determined, when individuals were at an appropriate maturity stage, by gently applying pressure to the abdomen to check for the release of sperm or eggs. Location data were recorded using the vessel’s GPS system. Estimated weight was calculated using the equation: weight = length × (girth/dimension) / 1000, where for pollack girth = 0.0076 and dimension = 3.0686. Girth and dimension pollack variables are supplied by ICES (International Council for Exploration of the Sea) MEDIN 3.1.2
