A series of groundfish surveys were carried out from 1976 to 1991 in the
eastern Irish Sea. Fishing took place using a Boris Goshawk trawl towed for an
hour. Numbers at length by centimetre of the main commercial fish species
(cod, plaice, sole, whiting) are recorded. Station positions by area are
recorded. A summary table is included for the majority of cruises from
1981-1991 containing catch data for all other species.

A metadata record has been created for each year of the series, with details
of the location of the data, survey station positions and any available cruise
reports. This parent record contains the reference code to each of these
individual metadata records.
