Despite targeting a non-quota species, *Crangon crangon* (hereafter called Crangon), it has high levels of unwanted catch of small fish, mainly small plaice, and sole and whiting. While Crangon will not be subject to the landing obligation (LO), the main bycatch species will be subject to the LO from 2019. Additionally, there is significant motivation from the industry in demonstrating high survival of discarded Crangon in the fishery as this fishery is currently seeking MSC accreditation. MEDIN 3.1.1
