The survey is a design based non-stratified survey, consisting of parallel transect which are aligned approximately in a North-east to south-west and north-west to south-east orientation in the Solway Firth. Transects were spaced at 2500 metres apart. All data were processed in line with HiDef procedures, which are accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and OHSAS 18001.
