Dan Lear Data Archive for Seabed Species and Habitats (DASSH) 01752 633102 01752 633291 Marine Biological Association of the UK, The Laboratory, Citadel Hill Plymouth PL1 2PB dassh.enquiries@mba.ac.uk distributor dataset EMU Environmental Ltd conducted a Baseline Benthic Ecology Study for Hanson Aggregates Marine Ltd and South Coast Shipping Co Ltd between September 13th - 15th 2000. Grab sampling was conducted using a 0.2m sq. grab bucket split into two halves (2 x 0.1m sq), upon recovery half of the sample used for faunal analysis and the other for full particle size analysis. 67 of the intended 69 samples were collected, triplicate samples were obtained from 8 sites. In total 83 grab samples were collected during the survey. A total of 8 trawls were carried out using a 2m Beam Trawl, over a distance of 500 or 1000m depending on the nature of the seabed.
