Prior to commencing the survey it was proposed that environmental seabed sampling should be undertaken at eight locations within the proposed survey area, with groundtruthing where it wax deemed necessary to investigate seabed features: 2 approx 100m up and downstream of proposed location; 2 approx 500m up and downstream of proposed location; 1 approx 3500m NW of proposed location in deepest part of survey area; 1 approx 3500m SE of proposed location in shallowest part of survey area; 1 positioned in area of low reflectivity identified from the side scan sonar data.
