It demonstrated that the fishing industry could be a useful asset when it comes to carrying out condition assessments within Marine Protected Areas. In April 2013, Sussex IFCA in collaboration with Natural England, Salacia Marine and the Selsey fishermen, recorded 35 video transects and four fishermen were trained in the use of the equipment. Features and extents of habitats within the rMCZ were confirmed. The habitats were classified to EUNIS Level 3.
