The data were collected using ultra-high resolution digital video aerial surveys undertaken by HiDef Aerial Surveying Limited. The survey is a design based non-stratified survey, consisting of parallel transect which are aligned approximately in a North-east to south-east orientation in the Moray Firth. Transects were spaced at 3000 metres apart. All data were processed in line with HiDef procedures, which are accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and OHSAS 18001.
