Three sites which were positive for Sabella were selected for detailed species counts in 1996. A further eight sites which were both positive and negative for Sabella were sampled using transect surveys to record species presence/absence and species abundance in 1999. Permanent quadrats were established at two of the sites to measure the number of healthy Sabella tubes in selected months from 1998 to 2000.
