At the 2 sites counts of the oyster Crassostrea gigas were performed either side of the transect line, with counts in both the middle and lower shore at site 2, and measurements of shell length and width being taken. Counts were taken from randomly placed quadrats of 0.5m2. N.b. when looking at location of transect 1 take into account the distance along the transect line and allow for a 22m difference from the recorded location
