The survey was completed under E. ON Terms and Conditions and was undertaken between 9th December 2015 and 1st March 2016. Bibby HydroMap were then commissioned again in April 2016 by Rampion Windfarm Limited to carry out a UXO infill survey of the K03 turbine in the Rampion Offshore Windfarm. The survey was completed under E. ON Terms and Conditions and the survey was undertaken between 8th April 2016 and 9th April 2016. The windfarm has been previously surveyed by another contractor, however, changes to design layout have generated the need for additional survey work for small areas of infill. Bibby HydroMap have been commissioned to undertake this additional work, providing additional UXO mitigation around various portions of the site. Data acquisition was undertaken on two vessels: MV Bibby Tethra and MV Lia - each vessel undertook small areas of data acquisition on various part of the windfarm. This data includes Side Scan Sonar images and also a dataset containing the targets and debris identified on the seabed using this imagery. Over 200% coverage was achieved allowing targets to be identified on more than one survey line and the centres of each swath to be covered. Side scan sonar line spacing was 7 metres and an operating range of 37 metres was utilised. Occasional tugging was evident on the sonar records although this has not affected the quality of the final mosaic or the identification of any targets, features or seabed character. Similarly, positional data was of high quality, enabling accurate location of any targets and ensuring seabed features aligned on adjacent lines.
