Previous surveys with side-scan sonar had indicated the presence of parallel furrows and sand ribbons on the seabed, which were aligned with the tidal streams. The present investigation used a towed sledge fitted with photographic and TV cameras. This survey was collated by MarLIN as part of a data collation contract for species on the provisional list of Nationally Important Marine Features.
