Seven species from the Irish Sea Pilot are included and the information on them has been entered into Marine Recorder. Not all the sites have been inlcuded as some do not appear on the map. *Caryophyllia smithii - Dredged living off the Maidens, outside Belfast Lough 120m (Hyndman 1858); Angus Rock LWST 1952, 1953. Sabellaria alveolata (McIntosh, 1900-23; Fauvel, 1927) - Very abundant at Rossglass LWNT. Serpula vermicularis (McIntosh, 1900-23; Fauvel, 1927) - Commonly dredged each year both inside and outside lough. Limesstones off Castle Quintin 31m, Ringhaddy etc. Modiolus modiolus (Jeffereys, 1863 as Mytilus modiolus) Commonly dredged in many localities of the lough. Limestone, off Killyleagh, Ballywhite Bay. Ostrea edulis (Jeffereys, 1863) - A few taken off Whiterock, Oyster beds charted with dead shells much commoner that live specimens. Nucella lapillus (Jeffereys, 1867 as Purpura lapillus) - Abundant on rocks everywhere particularly numerous at Rossglass. Echinus esculentus - Very large specimens common at LWST. Limestones, Big Rock, John's Rock, Killard, Kilchief. Large numbers dredged in vicinity of the Limestones off Strangford Bar and off Killyleagh. This survey was collated by MarLIN as part of a data collation contract of species and habitats in the Irish Sea as part of the Irish Sea Pilot Project.
