The report contains the results of field surveys (conducted during early April 1989) and the comparison of this data with that of previous studies. The study surveyed 27 sites, both rocky and sedimentary, and followed the MNCR survey methods. These methods do not follow a transect approach but aims to identify the range of habitats present and the number / abundance of conspicuous species within these habitats. In addition, core samples were taken at sedimentary shores for granulometric analysis. The results presented include the granulometric analysis, description of the distinct community/site types and their characterising species abundances and finally a complete list of taxa recorded. The discussion describes the habitat/community types distributions and suggests recommendations for future work. Finally, the scientific interest and importance of the area is evaluated, including species diversity.
