In this study 20 potential coastal lagoon sites were identified a) by perusal at Ordanance Survey maps, the published literature and photographs in the collection of the Committee for Aerial Photography, University of Cambridge and b) from a list of possible brackish-water sites kindly supplied by Mr E.I.S. Rees of the School of Ocean Sciences, University College of North Wales, at Menai Bridge. Sites were visited between 12th September and 18th September 1987 (inclusive). Of the sites only two can be considered to be genuine lagoons, survey sheets, maps and photographs are attached in respect of these two. Only one site; Cemlyn, which was visited twice, has been entered into Marine Recorder.
