During the first week the shore of Arran itself were investigated and during the second week the author was joined by a group of Underwater Conservation Society divers doing a scallop survey, based on Holy Island, off Lamlash. aim of the survey was to obtain data on the distribution of Mollusca. Selected shores were searched for Mollusca, all possible habitats being investigated, and samples of Fucus serratus and small algae were taken for analysis of their assoicated Mollusca. Extensive collection of Mollusca has been lodged in the Royal Scottish Museum.
