This is a multi-vessel survey and this metadata record describes the commercial fishing vessel Genesis' sampling component of the survey conducted in 2018. This trawl survey followed a set of protocols drawn up by an industry science survey-planning group made up of Marine Scotland scientists and fishing representatives. These protocols share much in common with the sampling regimes described in Marine Scotland standing instructions for demersal trawl surveys.

Database - 55 deployments of BT 196 Monk Trawl (90 m sweep) - CSV/Database - times, positions, depths, sea state, gear parameters, species caught, length distribution and total weight caught, Database - 1437 records of biological measurements - CSV/Database - Length, weight, sex, age, maturity
dataset
Catch rate, length-frequency, distribution, sex and age composition data for anglerfish, megrim, four-spot megrim and cod were collected throughout the survey. Additional biological data was collected for selected species. Equipment used: BT195 Anglerfish bottom trawl with 400mm Rockhopper ground gear and tickler chain.
