This metadata record describes the sampling of the chartered commercial fishing vessel Genesis' survey of Rockall and the North West of Scotland conducted in 2018. This trawl survey followed a set of protocols drawn up by an industry science survey-planning group made up of Marine Scotland scientists and fishing representatives. These protocols share much in common with the sampling regimes described in Marine Scotland standing instructions for demersal trawl surveys

dataset
Catch rate, length-frequency, distribution, sex and age composition data for anglerfish, megrim, four-spot megrim, cod and selected skate species were collected throughout the survey. Equipment used: BT195 bottom trawl with 400mm Rockhopper ground gear and tickler chain.
