The area to be surveyed is the proposed cable landing point from an extension to the existing Burbo Bank Offshore Windfarm site. A detailed specification was provided which stated the objective of the investigation was as follows: 1. Detect Potential UXO’s 2. Provide Topography for the entire investigation area 3. Provide sub-bottom data This will be used to assist with the design, consenting and construction of the proposed export cable route. The scope of work for the intertidal operations, specified the following: 1. Multi-sensor magnetometer survey 2. RTK GPS Survey 3. Seismic refraction survey of the centreline of the proposed cable route. The survey was carried out in accordance with the specification and works were conducted between 27 November 2013 and 13 December 2013. Some topographical features are included for purposes of orientation. The plot is presented both in PDF format and also as an original CAD drawing. It is recommended that the CAD drawing is manipulated by turning on/off relevant layers for clarity if only a specific portion of the survey data are required for working drawings. The anomalies identified during the GPR survey have been plotted on the drawings and presented in Drawing No. L4205-14_Utilities_r0 Enclosure D at a scale of 1:500 and PDF L4205-14_U01-27 Enclosure D. Depth to anomalies were calculated as a function of the velocity of the transmitted radar pulse, thus the total transmission time taken for the pulse to be reflected and then received at the surface. There are a number of regions in the area surveyed where no data could be collected. This was due to a number of factors including but not limited to uneven terrain, deep standing water and dense vegetation. A plot of the results showing the topographic survey is presented in Drawing No. L4205-14_Topographic_r0 drawing Enclosure D at a scale of 1:500 and PDF L4205-14_T01 to 27 Enclosure D. The topographic data were exported from the GNSS system and then filtered to ensure all points were of RTK quality. The data sets were reduced to Ordnance Datum (Newlyn). Data were only passed to the ground model where the 3D positional quality was of acceptable precision (RTK Fixed Integer).
