The marine survey was designed to determine the seabed morphology, shallow geology and any potential geo-hazards/constraints to the development of the demonstration site.During survey operations an area of approximately 46km2 was covered by multi-beam echo-sounder and side-scan sonar systems, and over 350 line km were surveyed with seismic profiling systems (boomer and sparker) as well as a marine magnetometer. Following completion of the marine survey EGS was contracted to undertake an AGDS based classification of multi-beam echo-sounder (MBES) backscatter amplitude data. In total a MBES dataset covering area of approximately 46km^2 was processed and classified using Quester Tangent Corporation's (QTC) SWATHVIEW, a combined MBES and side-scan sonar (SSS) automatic seabed classification software package. Data was processed by QTC Marine at their head office in Saanichton, BC, Canada. This report details the procedure of QTC SWATHVIEW automatic classification and presents a comparison of the classification results and interpreted data from the marine geophysical survey
