These data were collected to inform consent licensing requirements at the Ormonde offshore wind farm, with the objective of determining whether the patterns of arrival of migrating Pink-footed Geese and Whooper Swans are impacted by the location of the offshore wind farms in the East Irish Sea. Counts were to take place from the week commencing 7th September to the week commencing 21st December, 2014. These data were to help inform consent licensing requirements at Ormonde. Peak weekly counts were conducted by reserve staff at WWT Martin Mere. Each week during the surveillance period, morning counts of Pink-footed Geese and Whooper Swans roosting on the WWT Martin Mere reserve were made from hides. Counts were conducted around first light, before the birds left the reserve to feed. A summary of weather conditions during the week and any notes regarding count data were also made.
