One set of analyses is presented for terns exclusively, another for the remaining bird species combined. The analyses were to quantify the fluctuations in bird abundances with environmental and temporal conditions (e.g. tidal or seasonal effects), as well as potential effects associated with the MCT turbine installation and operation. Both the terns and remaining bird species exhibited strong seasonal and tidal fluctuations in relative abundance. There is evidence of a possible displacement of the general bird species out of an area immediately adjacent to the turbine installation. There is however no evidence of an overall decline in relative bird abundances for the survey region, with some other areas exhibiting a relative increase. There is evidence of lower relative tern abundances, for the days that the turbine is in operation. Tern abundance has however increased significantly overall within the survey region, over the course of the study. This series contains one report detailing the analyses.
