The surveys were carried out by RPS hydrosearch on behalf of DONG Energy. Results include maps of bathymetry, sediment types, seabed features and sidescan sonars. Data was collected in May 2007. Data from 2002 and 2007 surveys of the whole study area, including the cable route and the GS2 proposed offshore wind farm (just to the south of GS1) were analysed for this study. Benthic samples were collected using 0.1m2 day grabs at 65 sites in 2002 and 29 sites in 2007. The report presents details of the survey methods, data analysis and results for both the 2002 and 2007 studies of Gunfleet Sands. Whilst this report focuses on preconstruction of the GS1 development, the data presented here also covers the study area defined for GS2, and the data is presented in a format suitable to describe the preconstruction conditions for the combined GS1 and GS2 developments.
