The purpose of this geophysical survey was to provide high quality ultra high resolution seismic data for interpretation of sub-seabed soil conditions and mapping of the seabed. The objectives of the survey were to acquire high quality geophysical data for the interpretation of geological layers in the area and structural elements to a depth of 75 m below seabed, accurate bathymetry data and information on possible geohazards. The ultra high resolution system included a multi-channel seismic recorder, a Geo-Spark power supply, a Geo-Source 200 sparker, a Geometrics MicroEel solid analog Streamer and a separately towed GPS buoy. For acquiring bathymetric data a Kongsberg EM2040D multibeam echo sounder was used. A sub-bottom profiler, chirp Edgetech 512i, was used for mapping the shallow sub bottom geology.
