This series covers survey elements which were undertaken on the 24th January 2014. The survey work was carried out using the PLA survey vessel ‘Yantlet’, with bathymetric data being collected using a hull-mounted Reson SeaBat 8125H MBES. This is the third survey PLA have performed and once again 100% coverage of the defined survey area was achieved in moderate to fair conditions. The survey shows that the survey corridor is stable when compared to the previous survey from 30th April 2013, the area is within +/-20cm. The survey is referred to the WGS84 Spheroid and ITRF2000 Datum. All coordinate positions refer to a Transverse Mercator Projection and UTM Grid Zone 31N. The geodetic parameters for the WGS-84 Spheroid and Datum are shown in Table 2. Bathymetric data have been reduced to LAT using the VORF-LAT separation model shown in Figure 4: VORF-LAT Separation. PPK vertical levels have been generated in PosPacMMS by applying Ordnance Survey RINEX base station data. The PPK vertical positions were applied to the bathymetric data in Hypack. The use of enhanced visualisation techniques through ‘Fledermaus software’ can highlight any inconsistencies in the survey tide reduction.
