The 2006 survey area comprised the woodland itself; wet grassland to the north, pasture and arable to the west and the arable field to the south and east of the woodland with their boundaries; Sandy Lane and the footpath branching off it to the west; and the arable field and ponds to the south of Sizewell Gap road. Habitats beyond these boundaries were mapped in 2005 and the Phase 1 survey results for both 2005 and 2006 are shown in Figure 1.
