This appraisal uses existing published data to evaluate the benthic communities within the vicinity of the proposed cable route corridor, to assess their importance relative to the wider Wash area, and in comparison to other similar habitats. Given that the previous datasets are somewhat dated, a survey of the biological resources along the route corridor was conducted and a temporal comparison of these resources was made.
