The Study Area comprises a 250m buffer zone around the proposed infield and export cable routes and the turbine locations. The geophysical data were acquired by EGS International Ltd between 21st March 2014 and 23rd June 2014. Sidescan sonar, magnetometer and multibeam bathymetry data were assessed across the entire Study Area. A review was also carried out of 25% of the sub-bottom profiler data for the north-south section of the export cable corridor. A total of 202 seabed features of potential archaeological interest were interpreted across the Study Area. No features of high archaeological potential were identified and no Archaeological Exclusion Zones have been implemented. In addition, 26 palaeogeographic features of possible archaeological potential have been identified. These include three distinct areas of palaeochannels (and their associated overbank deposits where present) which are interpreted as possibly being part of the old Thames-Medway river system. These features have the potential to contain both in situ and derived archaeological artefacts of Palaeolithic and Mesolithic date along with palaeoenvironmental material and are interpreted as being of high archaeological potential.
